Metarhizium anisopliae
Metarhizium anisopliae, also known as the green muscardine fungus, is a widely distributed entomopathogenic fungus with a broad host range. Its spores germinate on the insect surface, penetrate the cuticle, and colonize the pest internally. After the insect?s death, the body is covered with a greenish fungal mat, releasing new spores to continue the infection cycle.
